Two men, both aged 37 and from Aylesbury, have been jailed for dealing crack and heroin in the town.
Steven Unsworth and Richard Jackson pleaded guilty to charges relating to the supply of class A drugs at Aylesbury Crown Court on Tuesday 30th August.
On 16th June last year, Mr Unsworth and Mr Jackson were seen by officers walking along Walton Street in the direction of the town centre.
As officers pulled up alongside the pair, Mr Unsworth attempted to ran off, discarding a container as he ran. This was later found to contain 19 wraps of crack cocaine and eight wraps of heroin, worth around £270.
Both men were arrested later that same day.
Mr Unsworth has been sentenced to five years and six months’ imprisonment and Mr Jackson received a jail term of two years and eight months.
Investigating officer, PC Ben McNeill, of the Aylesbury Stronghold Team, said: “Drug dealing in our communities is not acceptable and we will take robust action against those who chose to distribute these substances.
“Unsworth and Jackson have will now serve time in prison for their actions and I hope this demonstrates that we will bring offenders to justice.
“If you have information of drug dealing in your area, please call 101 or make a report online.”
