McDonald’s has unveiled new plans for its takeover of the Pizza Hut at Wycombe Retail Park ahead of it reopening the building early next year.
The fast-food giant asked Buckinghamshire Council for permission to make changes to the outside of the restaurant this week.
These include adding additional air conditioning vents to the restaurant, as well as new plans clarifying where the doors will be.
McDonald’s has proposed fitting new automatic sliding entrance doors to the right of the existing door which will become a ‘pass door’.
The other doors, which are used as fire escapes, will be retained and redecorated, while external brickwork and wooden panelling will be given a facelift.
The new plans come after the council approved the overall McDonald’s redesign of the building last week.
Its latest fast food outlet will be its fifth in Wycombe after those in Asda and next to Aldi near the Handy Cross Roundabout and the others in the town centre on the high street and next to Sainsbury’s.
Pizza Hut confirmed its closure in September and apologised to customers for ‘any inconvenience caused’ by the loss of the restaurant.
A spokesperson for McDonald’s confirmed that its new branch would open its doors ‘in early 2025’.
