A man has been sentenced for drug offences in Aylesbury.
Hammad Ali, aged 29, of Hancock Close, Aylesbury, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply a controlled class B drug, namely cannabis and cannabis resin, and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place.
He also pleaded guilty to one count each of; possession with intent to supply a controlled class A drug, namely cocaine, possession of criminal property, namely £1475 cash, use of a motor vehicle on a road / public place without third party insurance, and driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
On Wednesday 17 January Ali was sentenced to two years and eight months’ imprisonment, and forfeiture and destruction of the cocaine, cannabis and weapons.
He was also ordered to forfeit a quantity of cash.
On 11 October, officers were on patrol in Aylesbury when their attention was drawn to a Lexus being driven by Ali.
Ali left the car and began to destroy a small phone when officers intercepted. He was detained for a search and found with a mobile phone, £475 in cash and cannabis resin.
Officers later conducted a search of Ali’s address where a quantity of cannabis buds, cannabis resin and cocaine was located, along with £1,000 in cash, a knife and a set of nunchucks.
Ali was arrested on 11 October and was charged the following day.
Investigating officer, PC Levi Fensom of the Stronghold Team based at Aylesbury police station, said: “Ali was caught with drugs in his possession and it was clear he was looking to profit from the sale of class A.
“We will continue to take strong action on drugs, investigating those who deal drugs and bringing them before the courts to face justice.
“Members of the public can play their part in helping us to remove drug dealers from our communities by reporting information to us, so we can use it to build intelligence and take action.
“Drugs cause untold harm in our communities, and following a robust investigation, Ali has been brought to justice.
