A man has been sentenced to six years’ and two months’ for burglary offences.
Kieran Barlow, 27, of no fixed abode, Swindon, was sentenced at Swindon Crown Court on Wednesday 27 March.
It’s after he pleaded guilty to three counts of burglary in a dwelling.
On 10 August 2023, Barlow broke into a property in Medmenham, Buckinghamshire, with two other men. They entered by breaking a kitchen window. The victim heard the noise got out of bed to find the three masked men. There was then a scuffle and the victim bravely chased the men out of the house.
Luckily the victim, a man in his sixties was not injured.
The two other men have not yet been identified.
The other two offences happened in Chippenham and Cricklade in Wiltshire, and were investigated by Wiltshire Police.
Barlow was arrested on 6 November 2023 and charged the following day.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Conor Cormican, said: “I am satisfied that Barlow has been sentenced.
“Burglary is an invasive crime which has very detrimental effects on victims who often fear that after a burglary they are not safe in their own homes.
“I would like to thank Wiltshire Police’s Burglary teams at both Swindon and Melksham Police Station for their hard work in helping to bring Barlow to justice in this case. It is an exemplary case of intra-force partnership in dealing with serious offenders.”
