At 6:13 PM on Thursday 24 February, crews attended a fire on Station Close in High Wycombe.
The fire was a second floor flat of a three-storey block, and firefighters rescued one man who was treated for the effects of breathing in smoke and burns to his hands. They provided immediate emergency care before passing the man into the care of South Central Ambulance Service.
The firefighters used six sets of breathing apparatus, three main jets, a dry riser, and positive pressure ventilation to clear smoke.
At the height of the incident there were seven fire crews and two police officers at the scene, causing a flurry of blue lights in the area.
Crews returned to the scene overnight to carry out a reinspection to check for hot spots in the building.
