A man from High Wycombe has been jailed for four months and given a deportation order for growing cannabis.
Elsi Cela, aged 21, was sentenced at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on Friday 25th February after pleading guilty.
At around 11.30am the previous day, officers forced entry to a property in London Road where Cela was arrested.
Police found around 250 cannabis plants growing in various rooms of the property, capable of producing approximately £400,000 per year.
Police Sergeant Kristopher Lovell, of the Problem-Solving Team, based at High Wycombe police station, said: “Illegal drug production will not be tolerated by Thames Valley Police and I hope this sentence reflects the seriousness of this offending.
“This sentencing and seizure were partly the result of intelligence provided by a member of the public so I’d like to thank them for supporting our investigation.
“I would also encourage anyone with information about criminal activity to tell police as this shows that we do act on it.
“You can do so on our website or by calling 101. You can also report information anonymously by calling independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
