Man jailed for drug offences in High Wycombe

A man has been jailed for drug offences in High Wycombe.

Sajid Rashid, aged 38, of HMP Bullingdon, was sentenced to two years and 11 months at Amersham Crown Court on Monday (20/11).

He pleaded guilty to one count each of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A, namely crack cocaine, possession of a controlled drug of class B, namely cannabis/cannabis resin, acquiring/using/possessing criminal property, and driving a mechanically propelled vehicle on a road/in a public place without due care and attention.

At around 1pm on 12 May this year, officers saw Rashid leave an address in Ogilvie Road that had links to class A drug dealing.

Rashid drove off in a silver Honda Civic and hit a pedestrian, knocking them to the ground but causing no injuries.

The officers detained Rashid in the driver’s seat and searched him, finding around £450 in cash and two mobile phones.

There was also a quantity of crack cocaine in the car and more phones in the house containing messages related to drug dealing, so Rashid was arrested.

He was charged the following day.

Investigating officer PC James Carey, of the Neighbourhood Policing Team based at High Wycombe police station, said: “Sajid Rashid is now a convicted drug dealer who has had to pay the significant consequences of committing such offences.

“We will continue to support our communities that suffer while this kind of offending continues and look to continue our hard work and dedication to bring further offenders to justice.

“We need the public’s help with this though so anyone with information about drug dealing should call 101 or make a report on our website.

“You can also provide information to police anonymously via the independent charity, Crimestoppers, by calling 0800 555 111 or visiting its website.”
