A man has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent in Burnham.
The charge relates to an incident in the Red Lion pub, High Street, Burnham at around 12.50am on Saturday (20/7) after the victim, a man in his fifties, was assaulted.
Usman Hanif, aged 38, of High Street, Langley, Slough, was charged on Sunday (21/7) with causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He appeared at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court yesterday (22/7) and was remanded to custody. Hanif is due to appear at Aylesbury Crown Court on 10 September.
Sadly, the victim died in hospital today (23/7) and a homicide investigation has now been launched. We are carrying out further enquiries and we will liaise with the CPS to keep them updated following the victim’s death.
The man’s next of kin has been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers
