Simon Lacey will run the famous event in aid of Youth Concern.
The independent charity says that Simon - one of their long-standing supporters - has finally secured a place in the 2026 London Marathon after years of entering the ballot. He will join thousands of other runners on Sunday 26th of April to raise "vital funds and awareness" for Youth Concern, an organisation which supports young people aged 13–25 across Aylesbury Vale with drop-in sessions, counselling and supported living.
The charity's CEO, Hannah Asquith, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Simon for choosing to support Youth Concern through such a huge personal challenge. The funds he raises will make a real difference to young people across Aylesbury Vale, helping them feel safe, seen and supported to live with confidence, purpose and possibility.”
As a committed advocate for the charity for several years, Simon believes that running for them is just a natural extension of that relationship, adding: “I’m proud to be running on the charity’s behalf and to help raise funds that will allow them to continue their life-changing work". Simon has competed in long distance runs around Europe, including Latvia and Berlin.
