Aylesbury resident Sophie Dowsett is running for local charity Lymphoma Action after they helped her during her brothers Non-Hodgkin lymphoma diagnosis, while Emily Davis from High Wycombe will be running for Silver Star Maternity Fund at the John Radcliffe in Oxford after her first baby was born at just 27 weeks weighing only 560 grammes.
Sophie is currently half way to her fundraising target. She has said:
“My friends, family and my Fiancé’s colleagues have all generously donated. I have raised just over £1,000 so far, so just over halfway to my target of £2,000”.
If you would like to donate you can do so via Sophie’s Justgiving Page which can be found at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/sophie-dowsett2
Meanwhile Emily has been a keen supporter of the Silver Star Maternity Fund for many years,
She explains: “It was such a relief to know that I was being looked after so thoroughly and that nothing would be missed. Professor Chris Redman explained that they could normally keep mothers going for 2-3 weeks from arrival, and that every additional day was crucial.”
