The Mayor of High Wycombe, Cllr ARIF HUSSAIN led a ceremony at the Burma Star war memorial in High Wycombe to pay tribute to those who served in the “Forgotten War” on Victory over Japan day.
Victory over Japan Day (VJ Day) marks the day Japan surrendered on the 15 August 1945, which in effect ended the Second World War.
Also in attendance was Chairman of Bucks Council Cllr Dev Dhillon, President of RBL Ivor Beeks, Chairman of RBL Tony Green, Cllr Lesley Clarke OBE, Marten Clarke JP and RBL Treasurer Paul Turner. It looks as though the service was led by Rev Gareth Morley of All Saints
