Hospital consultants in Bucks will be walking out for the next two days as part of an ongoing dispute over pay.
It means routine care will be severely disrupted as wards will only be offering a basic level of services.
Last week, the government announced a 6 percent pay rise offer for medics.
NHS Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Integrated Care Board said it will prioritise resources to protect emergency treatment, critical care, neonatal care, maternity, and trauma.
