Drivers heading into and out of Aylesbury are being urged to plan ahead this October half-term, with major roadworks expected to cause disruption across the town.
Buckinghamshire Council says that from Friday 24th to Friday 31st October, a combination of planned maintenance and possible emergency repairs could slow traffic on key routes in and around Aylesbury.
Motorists are being advised to “check before you travel” even on familiar journeys — to help avoid delays.
The council says the demand for access to the county’s road network is rising, as highways crews, utility companies, and broadband providers all carry out essential works and upgrades.
Thomas Broom, Buckinghamshire Council Cabinet Member for Transport:
“We plan works during school holidays when roads are usually quieter to reduce disruption. Our teams are inspecting sites daily to ensure conditions are met, and we’re asking road users for patience while these vital improvements are completed.”
Residents can find full details of affected routes on the council’s website: buckinghamshire.gov.uk/half-term-roadworks.
