Directed by first time filmmaker Ed Mellin and co-written with his brother Jack, this independent picture had a budget of less than £400. But it has won a number of awards, including Best in Show in both the Cinema World Fest Awards 2020 and the World Premiere Film Awards 2020. Lead Actor Dan Davidson (below) won the Best Actor award in the Creation International Film Festival 2020.
Filmed in Buckinghamshire and the Isle of Wight, the picture tells the story of Jed Coombes, a television fixture who has seen better days. Obsessed with the trappings his fame has brought, he has become lazy, with the press and his fans starting to question him. His producer and friend Greg sets up a challenge designed to revive his career. Jed is dropped off to fend for himself on an island in the Caspian Sea without the support of the team he has relied on for so long.
