Fire crews were called to a fire at a property in York Place, Aylesbury in the early hours of Monday (2/8) morning, around 1am.
The fire was out when they arrived, but the victims, a man and woman aged in their thirties, three boys and a girl, all suffered smoke inhalation and were taken to hospital for treatment. They have since all been discharged.
Police are calling it 'an incident of arson with intent to endanger life' and are asking for any information, including CCTV, dash-cam or doorbell footage from the area.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Samuel Summers of Aylesbury CID, said:
“At this stage, we have not got any identified suspects, but we are naturally determined to ascertain who was responsible for this attack.
“Understandably, this incident will have caused some considerable concern in the local community, but I would like to reassure the public that we are conducting a thorough investigation.
