On the 7 and 8 August 2021, the Chiltern Open Air Museum at Chalfont St. Giles will play host to a 17th Century ‘Ambigue’.
(That's a picnic to you and I!)
It will be brought to life by the ‘History Re-enactment Workshop’ group and visitors will be able to watch, learn and ask questions about the servants preparing the food for a local landowning family and their guests.
it's a chance to find out about 17th Century life and how it differed markedly according to rank and social station.
There will also be discussions about topical issues of the day, including the gossip surrounding the Royal Court and the contemporary attitudes towards garden design!
