If you see a Christmas Turkey and The Grinch running round the streets of Aylesbury tomorrow, don’t think Christmas has come early.
After a Cancer Research charity tin was stolen from their friend's shop in December, Wendy Hubbard suggested running a 5 kilometre sponsored run dressed as a Christmas turkey to replace the funds. After strong support, her sister Laura Moreton agreed to join her as The Grinch.
The event was originally arranged for Christmas Eve but had to be postponed after Bucks went into Tier 4 and the national lockdown in January.
It's now taking place tomorrow and the pair will start their run at the Bag Man's shop in the Hale Leys shopping centre at 1pm. As promised before Christmas, the pair will still run in their costumes
The pair have already raised more than £800 and Laura said she hopes people who see the pair will cheer them on.
She said: "We are looking for support from people if we pass them on our route by giving us a toot or wave as it's expected to be warm and I think we will be roasting in our costumes."
