Chiltern Railways release Christmas and New Year travel advice

Chiltern Railways is asking customers to check their journey before they travel over the festive holiday period. 

On Christmas Eve, Sunday 24 December, services will finish earlier than normal. Customers are advised to travel as early as possible and to anticipate some short notice cancellations . In addition, services between London Marylebone and Oxford are expected to be busier than usual owing to engineering works at London Paddington.

Last trains from London Marylebone: 

• Birmingham Moor Street – 20:00 
• Oxford – 20:12 
• Aylesbury (via Amersham) – 20:57 
• Aylesbury (via High Wycombe) – 21:20 

Last trains to London Marylebone: 

• Aylesbury (via Amersham) – 19:45 
• Birmingham Moor Street – 20:17 
• Oxford – 20:41 
• Aylesbury (via High Wycombe) – 20:33 

No services will run on Christmas Day. 

On Boxing Day, Tuesday 26 December, Chiltern will be running a special 30 minute service between London Marylebone and Oxford Parkway between approximately 08:00 and 22:00. The stations served will be Wembley Stadium, Gerrards Cross, Beaconsfield, High Wycombe, Princes Risborough, Haddenham & Thame Parkway, Bicester Village and Oxford Parkway. 

On Wednesday 27 December, Chiltern Railways services between London Marylebone and Oxford are expected to be busier due to engineering works at London Paddington. In addition, no services will run between London Marylebone and Aylesbury Vale Parkway via Amersham. Buses will replace trains between Aylesbury Vale Parkway and Amersham for connections to the London Underground network.  

On New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, no trains will run between London Marylebone and Aylesbury Vale Parkway via Amersham due to maintenance work. Buses will run between Aylesbury Vale Parkway and Beaconsfield for connections with train services to/from London Marylebone.  

Additional late-night services from London Marylebone have been added for New Year's Eve, which are as follows: 

• 00:30 to High Wycombe 
• 00:45 to Oxford 
• 00:50 to Banbury 
• 01:10 to Aylesbury (via High Wycombe) 
• 01:35 to Oxford 
• 01:40 to Banbury 
• 02:00 to Aylesbury (via High Wycombe) 

On New Year's Day, due to engineering works between Birmingham and London Euston, services are expected to be busier. Most trains between Birmingham Moor Street and London Marylebone will be formed of more carriages than usual. Rail replacement buses will serve Kings Sutton, Hatton and Lapworth on this day.
