A local housebuilder Barratt has donated spare timber to support carpentry students in Aylesbury.
Barratt David Wilson Homes has donated spare timber from its Kingsbrook development to the nearby Buckinghamshire College Group.
The timber will be recycled by the college’s Level 1 and 2 Carpentry students and Level 1 Construction Multi-Trade Learners, to help practice a number of practical skills throughout their two-year courses.
The students will use the timber to develop their mortice and tenons joints skills as well as helping to train good hand-tool techniques, from measuring and marking out skills, through to building roof trusses and learning about how to build stud partition walling.
