Bucks businesses discuss ways to clean up county's air

The conference, set up by Bucks Business First, is happening on Clean Air Day, with the aim of helping companies find the best ways to reduce emissions.

Working to clean up Buckinghamshire’s air is the aim of a gathering of companies today.

It’s Clear Air Day and Bucks Business First are holding the event to talk about ways to reduce air pollution and reach Net Zero emissions.

Figuring out cost-effective ways to achieve this will be a big talking point.

Held at The Vinson Building, University of Buckingham, the Clean Air Day event brings together various activities and initiatives for businesses to get involved in throughout the day to help them on their Net Zero journey.

Philippa Batting, Managing Director of Buckinghamshire Business First, said:

"Everybody can have a positive impact on air quality, and as business leaders, there are simple steps we can take to reduce air pollution. This event will bring together experts and local business leaders who are committed to making changes towards Net Zero and reducing air pollution.

"Threats and opportunities often come hand in hand and the long-term threats from climate change can be countered today by the actions we all take to save energy, improve air quality and cut our carbon emissions, which can also benefit your business!"

The programme of events includes a Focus on Marketing Your Green Credentials workshop, and a Networking Lunch, where attendees will join representatives from Buckinghamshire Council, Buckinghamshire Business First and Global Action Plan for an update on the support available for businesses adopting electric vehicles and creating low-carbon workspaces.

One-to-one advice will also be available from Low Carbon Advisers and Global Action Plan to help businesses reduce their energy and associated costs, and measure their carbon footprint, along with advice on the adoption of electric vehicles for employers and employees in Buckinghamshire

Businesses will also have the chance to join the Buckinghamshire Business First #NetZero Collaboration Circle - a great initiative bringing businesses together to tackle the trials and tribulations along the way to creating a Net Zero Bucks economy.
