A former Beaconsfield School pupil hopes her first big screen appearance in the movie Fisherman’s Friends 'One for All' will inspire other young people to follow their dreams.
Corinne Furman plays a character called 'Paige', a reality star who's just been signed a record deal.
Corinne said: “I would love to inspire young people to really push for their dreams.”
“I studied drama so a role like this for my first job out of university was something I had always dreamed of, but it is something you think will never happen to you.
“I remember getting the email through from the directors. At the time I had no idea of the scale of the film and how huge the opportunity was. I literally could not believe it .
“I am super, super grateful to our lovely directors.”
Corinne has also recently finished work on another film with co star Ramon Tikaram who plays Jez in Fisherman’s Friends. The movie is called ‘Hunting of the Snark. It is based on a Lewis Caroll poem and will be out in the next few months.
She added: “I am currently auditioning and trying to get that next ‘yes’ “
Corinne also has some advice for anyone who has just received exam results.
She said: “Try not to worry and keep positive. It is not the end of the world if you don’t do as well as you hoped but it is easier said than done, I know!
“ I actually failed all of my written exams at AS level as I am actually dyslexic but I wasn’t diagnosed at the time. I opened my results and I was heart broken and confused and wondered what all my hard work had been for.
“Remember your results don’t define with you, you will get to what you want with enough hard work and determination.
“If you believe in yourself and your dreams then anything is possible.”
Fisherman’s Friends ‘One for All’ was released in cinemas on 19th August.
