Aylesbury doctor convicted of non-recent sex offences

A doctor from Aylesbury has been convicted of multiple sexual offences in Buckinghamshire.

Salman Qureshi, aged 43, of Eleanor Gardens, Aylesbury, was found guilty by unanimous jury verdict of two counts assault of a female over 13 by penetration, and one count of sexual assault at Aylesbury Crown Court following a two week trial which concluded yesterday (31/10).

He will be sentenced at the same court on the 29 November.

The conviction is in connection with incidents, which occurred at the Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Aylesbury and Wycombe General Hospital, High Wycombe, between September 2005 and August 2018.

He was charged on the 3 September 2019 by postal requisition.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Collette Parker, of Aylesbury Police Station, said: “Qureshi used his trusted position as a Doctor to assault two young women who were in his care.

“We hope this conviction shows that victims of sexual assault can report historical incidents and we will investigate them.”
