By Charlie Smith - Local Democracy Reporter

Plans to create 52 new homes in High Wycombe town centre have been put forward by a London property developer.

Under one set of plans, Castle House at 33-39 Castle Street would be changed from an office to 32 apartments.

Another, separate application would see two new floors added to the building, taking it from three storeys to five.

Both sets of plans have been submitted by London registered firm Castle House Property Investments Ltd, which was only set up on Companies House in February.

The company is run by Daniel Sebastian Katz, a developer based in the capital, who runs a dozen other property and real estate firms.

Buckinghamshire Council is now considering the proposals for Castle House.

The 0.25-hectare site is adjacent to the Old Tea Warehouse and just up the road from the Chilterns Shopping Centre, where Dandara Living has applied for permission to build 303 flats.

Of the new apartments at Castle House, 39 will be studios, 12 will be one-bedroom, two-person units and one will a be two-bedroom flat for four people.

In terms of parking, there will be 66 spaces for bikes and 68 for cars, a decrease from the site’s existing 78 car parking spaces.

The applicant’s architects write: “Castle Street is characterised by a mix of Georgian and Victorian architecture and has adapted over time with the introduction of new buildings which use materials of brick, render and timber cladding.”
