10 year old girl from Buckingham chops 16 inches off her hair for local charity

Brave Evie Rogers has been growing her hair for the past three years to support The Florence Nightingale Charity and the The Little Princess Trust, in memory of her nanny.

Her grandmother Shelia was cared for by The Florence Nightingale Hospice in 2018.

Scott, Evie’s dad and Sheila’s son says, “

The staff were all amazing, dad was allowed to stay with mum during her time at the hospice and everything they did for us was really great.

“We spoke to Evie about how some people lose their hair when receiving treatment and how The Little Princess Trust make wigs for cancer patients - this made her think about what she could do to help those people.

“Evie wanted to honour the memory of her Nanny as she recognised the care that was given by Florence Nightingale Hospice to look after her when she needed it the most. And through donating her hair, she also wanted to help young cancer patients who lost their hair through treatment.”

Scott added,

“Evie is a remarkable little girl, everything she has done has been driven by her. She is extremely caring and considerate, and we are exceptionally proud of what she is doing.”

Evie's fundraiser is still open to take donations, visit: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Evie-Rogers1
