Nitu Chopra, aged 43, of Desborough Road, High Wycombe, was sentenced to pay a £300 fine and costs of £775 at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on Friday (5/8).
At around 11.05pm on 21 May 2021, Chopra, an employee at Holmers House Care Home in Holmers Farm Way, went into a member of staff's bedroom and stole £20 from a drawer, all of which was caught on CCTV.
Priority Crime Co-ordinator Craig Lambert based at High Wycombe police station, said: “Chopra’s conviction was the direct result of the support of the victim and staff at the care home as well as the diligent and positive investigation by the Priority Crime Team.
“Chopra was as a senior carer at the care home and although she only stole a small amount of money, the sentence handed down by the magistrates rightly reflected her breach of trust and the severity of her actions.”
