Police are investigating an incident on a farm near to Ivinghoe Beacon which is believed to have occurred on the morning of the 5th September.
A local farmer discovered that one of their ewes had been shot by a crossbow and the bolt was still embedded in her neck.
Luckily vets attended and saved her life; however the incident was shocking for everyone involved.
Police have seized the crossbow bolt and are in the process of examining it forensically.
