The inauguration of the new Amersham Skin Cancer Centre marks a milestone in healthcare delivery, offering a purpose-designed, state-of-the-art facility for swift diagnosis and treatment of skin conditions.
Trust Chair David Highton led the official opening ceremony, acknowledging the dedication of those who transformed the project from concept to reality over the past five years.
The centre introduces a same-day "see-and-treat service," streamlining patient care by enabling assessments and surgeries in a single visit, eliminating the need for additional appointments at other hospitals. While primarily serving skin cancer patients, the centre welcomes individuals with various skin conditions.
With skin cancer diagnoses on the rise, the establishment of the Skin Cancer Centre is crucial for timely and effective care delivery. Trust Chair David Highton emphasizes the significance of this dedicated facility, stating, "Providing patients with a one-stop-shop for dermatology and plastic surgery specialists simplifies, expedites, and ultimately enhances access to essential care."
