This summer, HS2 will be carrying out works to enable the installation of the low permeability wall across the temporary diversion of Nash Lee Road.
The wall is being built in sections and is designed to act as a barrier to control groundwater. It will also prevent excess groundwater from reaching local brooks, ensuring both environmental protection and infrastructure integrity in the area.
To carry out this installation, Nash Lee Road will be closed for just under four weeks. The works will include removing the vehicle restraint system (VRS) and kerbing, excavating for the wall, and installing slabs over the road, followed by reinstating the temporary road.
During the closure, there will be a signposted diversion route through Stoke Mandeville. Due to the road excavation, cyclist and pedestrian access will not be maintained during the closure.
When will these works take place?
• Wednesday 23 July to Monday 18 August 2025 These dates are subject to change due to circumstances beyond our control. Should we finish the works early, the traffic management will be withdrawn.
