Emergency services are this morning still on the scene of a major fire that broke out at a Buckinghamshire Hotel last night.
Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue were called to reports of a blaze at The Kings Hotel on the Oxford Road in Stokenchurch on Friday evening.
Thames Valley Police confirmed their officers were supporting the fire service at the scene of a large fire at the hotel.
They reported that everyone has been accounted for and no-one has been injured. The public were urged to avoid the area and those in the immediate vicinity were asked to keep their windows and doors closed while the incident was dealt with.
Videos shared on social media show flames rising from the roof of a large section of the upper part of the building.
The Kings Hotel is a family-run hotel that is a popular wedding and conference venue. The former 16th Century coaching inn recently underwent refurbishment work.
Aylesbury’s MP Rob Butler has tweeted saying: “Very concerned to hear about the fire at the Kings in Stokenchurch, but relieved to know everyone is safe. Please heed emergency services' requests as they deal with this difficult situation.”
