Local Charity aims for Donation Goal to Celebrate 30 years

Sexual Assault and Abuse Support Service Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes (SAASSBMK) are celebrating 30 years of supporting survivors of sexual violence in Bucks.

In December 1995, a group of women founded a group to support survivors of sexual assault and abuse, Aylesbury Vale Rape Crisis. The name of the charity was changed to reflect the growing service and expanded geographical areas of support, but supporting survivors remained at the heart.

The primary aim is to provide support, information, advice and guidance to victims and survivors, empowering and enabling them to work with the trauma and suffering caused to them and their loved ones by sexual assault and abuse, including non-recent and childhood sexual abuse.

Their services are for survivors of all genders over sixteen that have been affected by sexual violence. They also work with partners to provide support for children over the age of 5 in Buckinghamshire and to provide support to survivors of all genders who have experienced domestic abuse.

Now in their 30th year, their small team of staff support the incredible team of 84 volunteers delivering services that empower and build resilience to more that 1200 survivors in a year.

The charity aims to raise £30,000 to help support even more survivors of sexual violence, and to have a little security in a challenging financial landscape for charities such as theirs.
