’No one hears you scream – but silence will be heard’ is the second book in Alastair McIver's Roza Beshimov trilogy.
The author, from Hertfordshire, spoke to Bucks Radio in January when his first novel, 'The Daily News – there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, was published.
Now the follow up, 'No one hears you scream', is out. Based in the mysterious and culturally challenging region of central Asia, it tells the story, in fictional form but based on hitherto untold truths, of nomadic life in Kyrgyzstan’s mountain regions. Its heroine, rookie journalist Roza Beshimov, sets out to expose cultural malpractice, political corruption, and exploitation of women, but as she edges closer to the truth, lives are put at risk, including her own.

Alastair says, “I have been privileged to visit central Asia on several occasions, and the cultural and political challenges I encountered there left a lasting impression on me and - I think and hope - enabled me to bring a vivid authenticity to the narrative.”
With twists and turns that keep readers guessing to the very last page, Alastair’s novel combines suspense, drama, and the relentless pursuit of truth, with the conclusion as surprising as the journey which takes you there

The final book in Alastair's Roza Beshimov political crime series is due for publication in Autumn of 2026.
