The current surge of Covid-19 has seen a steep rise in the numbers of patients in hospital with the disease in Buckinghamshire, data shows.
At the start of June, 15 people were in hospital with Covid-19. By 18th July, this had increased to 74 people.
In the last two weeks, the average number of people dying per day with Covid-19 in the region has also risen from 0.1 to two.

The latest data from the Office of National Statistics (data to 6th July) shows that around 3.5 million people have the virus in the UK – that’s approximately 1 in 19 people.
The most recent Government data (data to 14th July) shows that just over 17,000 people are currently in hospital with Covid-19 in the UK.
Infections are rising faster than the previous waves of Omicron due to the greater transmissibility of the newly dominant BA.4 and BA.5 subvariants of Omicron.
