Mayor Nidhi Mehta met with CEO Jo Turner to formally announce her support for the charity, as shared on social media.
As part of her support, Mayor Mehta has set a goal to raise £10,000 to help refurbish the family kitchen at the Hospice—a vital space where families of patients can connect, reflect, and find comfort whilst their loved one is being cared for in the Inpatient Unit.
Mayor Mehta said: “I am deeply moved by the compassionate care that Florence Nightingale Hospice provides to patients and families during some of life's most challenging moments. Your dedication to ensuring dignity, comfort, and support for those facing end-of-life care, as well as the invaluable bereavement services you offer to families, truly embodies the spirit of service that makes our community stronger. I'm honoured to champion your vital cause during my year in office.”
Jo Turner said: “We’re delighted that Aylesbury’s new Mayor has chosen to support us. It was a real pleasure to welcome Nidhi to the Charity, and we’re excited to be part of the wonderful events her team has planned over the coming year, including Aylesbury on Sea and Parklife Weekend.”
