Buckinghamshire Council is proud to announce that its bereavement service has once again been awarded the highest national accreditation by the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management (ICCM).
The service has achieved the esteemed 'Gold Charter' status, reaffirming its commitment to delivering the highest standards of care and service to bereaved families across the county during difficult times.
The award is based on a detailed assessment of 382 criteria, from the support given to families to the management of cremation, burial, and environmental practices.
The ICCM Gold Charter recognises local authorities that demonstrate exceptional commitment to bereavement services—providing outstanding facilities, compassionate support, and clear, accessible guidance to those who are arranging funerals.
This year also marks the second time the council's cemetery services have been included in the submission, a testament to how the service continues to grow and evolve.

"Losing a loved one is always an incredibly difficult experience, and it's essential that we offer a burial service that is both compassionate and respectful to help families through such times.
"I'm immensely proud that our burial service has consistently achieved the ICCM Gold Charter accreditation every year since 2020. This recognition reflects the dedication and care our team brings to their work, providing comfort and exceptional support to local families when they need it most. We're deeply grateful for the trust our community places in us, and we remain committed to delivering bereavement services with warmth, dignity, and excellence."
