The Labour party has demanded the government publish internal estimates about the effect of abolishing "non-dom" tax status.
It used a motion in Parliament this week to call for the government to publish the findings before 28 February, two weeks before the spring Budget.
However, MPs voted 305 to 229 to reject the motion.
The party has previously published research which they re-released this week revealing three Tory seats where every tenth person has claimed non-dom status at some point.
Data shows the number of people who have been non-dom in Aylesbury as 200 and also 200 constituents in Buckingham.
