Concerns have been raised following instances of unwell or dead birds in the area.
In a Facebook post yesterday evening (January 18th), Reform councillor Callum Anderson warned people with young children and dogs to be "very careful" to prevent contact with any animal remains to avoid harmuntil further notice.
The councillor said that whilst the cause of swan and geese being found sick or dead around the lake is unknown, "there have been cases of bird flu in and around Bucks", adding that he and Watermead parish council are awaiting more information from Buckinghamshire Council and DEFRA (the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs).
These cases follow recent outbreaks near Bucks, with confirmed cases of avian influenza (bird flu) in Bedford Borough waterfowl just last week (January 16th) and cases in Milton Keynes back in November.
