Bucks Council has issued an apology after traffic disruption in Aylesbury, and promised to take action against Thames Water after the problems.
Motorists experienced long queues around Aylesbury on Tuesday, due to temporary lights on the Wendover Road, which the council confirmed were left in place by Thames Water.
The company has since confirmed the work was started on Monday and completed within 24 hours, but, due to the location of the pipes, the lights remained to "keep our teams safe".
The lights were taken down earlier today (31/1/24)
Buckinghamshire Council said they will they will take as much action as they can against the water company.
⚠️If you suffered delays on the Wendover Road in Aylesbury this morning, we are very sorry. This was a result of temporary lights being left in place by Thames Water following repairs they undertook yesterday. We are taking as much action as we can over this.

We are very disappointed that they chose not to remove the lights when their work finished yesterday and we advise that you make your concerns known to Thames Water (in this instance). Kind regards. [2/2]
