A fundraiser for a bicycle pump track in Bedgrove Park has nearly reached its target.
Bedgrove Residents and Community Association has raised £78,298 so far – and has set up a GoFundMe to get them to their £100,000 goal.
Fundraisers say the bike pump track will be “for the health and social benefit of all local residents, the wider community and young people in particular.”
The track can be used by mountain bikes, BMX bikes, scooters, skateboards, balance bikes and wheelchairs.
Jo Cheek, from the association, said: “This fantastic facility will give kids and young people especially a new way of having fun outdoors.
“It’s a great introduction to biking and skateboarding sports, which became really popular at the Olympics and Commonwealth games. Who knows, maybe we will have the next champion on our doorstep!”
On the 30th April they thanked the eleven organisations that had awarded them grants for the project. These included Aylesbury Community Board, William Harding charity and Fairhive Thriving Communities fund.
