Bucks Search and rescue and Search Dogs Bucks have received the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Medal - a special commemorative medal awarded to serving frontline members of the Police, fire, emergency services, prison services and Armed Forces.
This is the first time that lowland Rescue members have revived individual medals of this kind.
At a ceremony held at the RAF Officers mess in High Wycombe, 18 members were presented with a medal by Debbie Brock, the High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire.
Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Barber said:
"Bucks Search and rescue and Search Dogs Bucks make a huge contribution to Thames Valley Police, without their support, the policing costs relating to searching alone would be staggering. The teams save lives and bring closure to families. [They] are an integral part of community safety and embody the essence of 'Public are the Police and Police are the Public'.
