Magic, from Medical Detection Dogs, and Casper, from Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, are finalists in the Agria Pet Insurance competition.
Could the UK’s Most Heroic Dog be in Buckinghamshire?
Well two finalists in a national awards competition are from Medical Detection Dogs and Hearing Dogs for Deaf People - both charities based in Buckinghamshire.
The voting for Magic and Casper closes today (Thurs), with winners announced tomorrow.
The initiative, which celebrates dogs at all stages of their lives, launched at Crufts in March and it sees the pet insurance specialists shine a light on the older dogs that have been instrumental in the lives of others.
Agria invited assistance dog charities and organisations to nominate dogs that are the ultimate hero and have made a real impact as well as the superstar pups that are set to be the most promising graduates, celebrating the next generation of service dogs.
The shortlist:
‘Most Promising Graduate’:
o Gracie, Service Dogs UK
o Dug, Support Dogs UK
o Rio, Service Dogs UK
‘Most Heroic Dog’:
o Magic, Medical Detection Dogs
o Hetty, Support Dogs UK
o Casper, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People

All partner organisations that take part in the campaign will receive a donation of £1,000, whilst the winner of ‘most heroic dog’ and ‘most promising graduate’, will each receive a donation of £2,500 for its charity or organisation.
