The service posted on their social media after the fire at Bicester Motion yesterday (15/5)
"Our deepest sympathies and condolences are currently with all those affected by the tragic incident which took place yesterday, Thursday 15 May 2025, at Bicester Motion, Buckingham Road, Bicester.
BFRS firefighters and officers supported Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service in response to the fire, which tragically claimed the lives of two firefighters, and a member of the public, with two further firefighters remaining in hospital. Our thoughts are with their family, friends, colleagues.
As a mark of respect, we joined our fire service colleagues across the country in lowering the flags on our fire stations to half-mast at 12 noon today. This was supported by a two-minutes silence as the flags were lowered.
We appreciate that incidents of this nature can have a lasting emotional and psychological impact, not least because of the close fire service community we share and connections we hold. Staff wellbeing is of paramount importance to us during this extremely difficult time, as we continue to look out for each other, across the Services, and provide support to those affected.
While our crews are no longer at the scene, our Service continues to offer support to our Oxfordshire colleagues at this difficult time and joins them in mourning the loss of these lives".
