Aylesbury MP Rob Butler has welcomed the news that 18,584 pensioners in the Aylesbury constituency will receive a 10.1 per cent increase in their Basic State Pension starting this month, further helping pensioners from the effects of rising costs.
The pension increase will automatically be applied to pensioners’ payments.
Mr Butler said: "Pensioners across the Aylesbury area have been directly affected by high inflation as a result of Putin’s illegal war in Ukraine, so I am very pleased that the Conservative Government’s 10.1 per cent increase in the Basic State Pension will be paid from this month.
This represents the biggest ever cash increase in the state pension and will help protect more than 18,000 local pensioners from the effects of rising prices.”
On top of this increase, pensioners will benefit from another £300 Pensioner Cost of Living payment this winter, continuing the Government’s commitment to those groups most vulnerable to the effects of high inflation.
