MP for Aylesbury and the villages Laura Kyrke-Smith has announced the winners of her annual 2025 Christmas Card competition, celebrating the creativity of children from across Aylesbury and the villages.
Earlier this year, Laura invited local primary school pupils to submit festive designs for her official Christmas card. After careful consideration, designs by Sophie, from Buckingham Park Church of England Primary School, and Ayria, from Whitchurch Combined School, were selected to feature on the card.
Sophie’s artwork depicts a festive Santa in Aylesbury, while Ayria’s design shows Santa flying over the town – both capturing the Christmas spirit and local pride. Runners-up prizes were awarded to Vaishnavi, from Kingsbrook View Primary Academy, and Alexis, from Buckingham Park Church of England Primary School.
To mark their achievement, Ayria and Sophie each received a special notepad and pen from Laura, along with a framed certificate and a copy of the Christmas card signed by Sir Lindsay Hoyle, Speaker of the House of Commons.

Following the announcement, Laura said: “Congratulations to Sophie and Ayria for their brilliant designs, and well done to Vaishnavi and Alexis, whose entries were also fantastic and deservedly recognised as runners-up.
“Sophie’s drawing of a festive Aylesbury Santa is superb, as is Ayria’s depiction of Santa flying over Aylesbury. I was blown away by the talent and enthusiasm of all the children who entered the competition – choosing a winner was no easy task. You all did an amazing job.”
Last week, the Labour MP presented the winning card to Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle to be displayed in Speaker’s House at the Houses of Parliament. Laura added:
“Mr Speaker and his cat Attlee were very impressed by the festive designs.”
The Christmas card was printed locally by Print World in Aylesbury and has been sent to local charity leaders, businesses, councillors and other community figures, helping to showcase the creativity of young people from across the constituency. It has also been sent to the Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, at 10 Downing Street.
