A further £1.6 million is now available from Buckinghamshire's share of the HS2 Road Safety Fund and Parish Councils are being asked to recommend road safety schemes.
The funding was allocated by the Department for Transport in recognition of the likely disruption to communities and the impact of heavy traffic associated with the construction of HS2.
Applications for this second tranche of the Buckinghamshire Road Safety Fund must be made by 31st May 2022.
The first tranche of the Fund, which totalled £1 million, was released last year and from this eight road safety schemes have already been approved, with a further nine being considered.
The total amount available for Buckinghamshire is £3.95 million, which is being released in a series of tranches.
Councillor Steven Broadbent, Cabinet Member for Transport at Buckinghamshire Council said: "The HS2 Road Safety Fund will contribute to making more of Buckinghamshire's roads safer for all users.
"The funds are expected to be in high demand so schemes to be funded will be carefully selected to benefit the communities that have been most significantly impacted by HS2 construction and to maximise the long-term road safety benefits across the county.
"We want as many communities affected by the impact of HS2 construction, as possible, to benefit from a share of that legacy."
