Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a disorder in Chesham.
The disorder occurred between 8.30pm and 10pm on 10 July on Upper Belmont Road, Howard Road and Greenway.
During the disorder, the victim, a boy in his teens, was assaulted.
Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Jo Lynch of Amersham CID, said: “We understand that these incidents may sound alarming, but we believe that the incidents are linked, and the people involved are known to each other.
“We are appealing for anyone who witnessed these incidents or who has information about what happened to please contact the force.
“We’d also ask anyone who may have mobile phone, CCTV or dash-cam footage of the area around the time of the incident to please report this to us.
