Bucks Healthcare NHS Trust have reminded expectant parents of the COVID restrictions in place during Anti Natal Appointment and scans, but have assured them that they are reviewing situations regularly to find safe and creative solutions to help partners be back visiting ALL scans and appointments.
Partners ARE allowed to be at the 12 week scan, and they have been able to continue to offer home births, as well as enable partners to be present during labour assessment, labour and immediately after the birth. They have also continued 2 hours per day visiting to the antenatal and postnatal ward.
However, the trust say they are still unable to enable partners to attend all scans and antenatal appointments. As their risk assessments for the antenatal scanning service continue to show that the rooms are too small to enable two metres of social distancing for more than two people for the period of time required to perform scans, other than at 12 weeks.
This comes after The Healthcare Trust say they have been in contact with the Bucks Maternity Voices Partnership and heard the community views and wanted to provide an update on the current restrictions and changes to maternity services in the area.
