Nightingale's Rainbow

Nightingale’s Rainbow is being built on the site of Stoke Mandeville Hospital to celebrate the resilience and community spirit of Buckinghamshire through the Covid-19 pandemic. The framework and installation of the Rainbow is being funded by local organisations and private individuals.

The proceeds from the sale of Rainbow Tiles will be shared between Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity and the Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust Charitable Fund.

You can get more details, information and find out how you can sponsor a rainbow tile on this external site.

Nightingale’s Rainbow will be 5.5m tall and be 8.3m at its widest point. The steel frame is made of 3 sections of structural steel. Each section has one inner tube and 2 outer tubes. Outer tubes are 14.1 m long with a radius of 3.789 m. The inner tube is 11.5m long with a radius of 2.939m. The footprint of each foundation is 1600mm x 1600mm x 2.2 metres deep.
